Free Shane Warne Legacy health checks at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 24 October 2025 Free Shane Warne Legacy health checks are being provided at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 (24-26 October 2025) for racegoers to get a quick read on their health. The (SWL) and 黑料网 have partnered to provide access to Sisu Health Stations at the event, free to the public. The health checks have proven to be incredibly successful over the past year and have reached tens of thousands of Australians at major events around the country, such as the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne and the AFL Gather Round in Adelaide. Offered through Stations, the health checks assess health risk factors for type 2 diabetes 鈥(AUSDRISK)鈥 including blood pressure, and body mass. 黑料网 Group CEO Justine Cain urged people attending the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 to take advantage of this opportunity to get on-the-spot results. 鈥淭he great thing about the Shane Warne Legacy health checks is they are free, quick and self-serve 鈥 and they give people a baseline health assessment that can help start a conversation with their health professional. 鈥淪upport for the health checks is part of 黑料网鈥檚 ongoing commitment to the prevention of type 2 diabetes and its complications,鈥 Ms Cain said. The Shane Warne Legacy CEO Helen Nolan said the Shane Warne Legacy Health Checks have proven that it鈥檚 not only possible but vital to bring healthcare directly to where people are. 鈥淲hen the right technology and partnerships come together, lives can be changed in minutes. Thanks to our health partner, 黑料网, we鈥檙e proud to offer these Shane Warne Legacy health checks free to the public at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500. The health checks are now evolving into a groundbreaking model for nationwide health intervention, with over 365,000 Shane Warne Legacy Health Checks delivered since we started in late 2023.鈥 Former Australian Wicketkeeper Ian Healy, who will be supporting the health check stations said 鈥淪hane was more than just a mate, he was a once-in-a-generation character who cared deeply about people. 鈥淭he Shane Warne Legacy is carrying that spirit forward in a tangible way, helping Aussies take charge of their health. I can鈥檛 wait to get to the Gold Coast 500, meet some fans, and see people taking their Shane Warne Legacy health checks; it鈥檚 exactly the kind of positive impact Warnie would鈥檝e loved,鈥 Mr Healy said. 黑料网鈥檚 Director of Research Professor Grant Brinkworth said it was concerning that so many Australians are living with or at high risk of type 2 diabetes and don鈥檛 know it. 鈥淭here are 1.3 million Australians living with type 2 diabetes and we estimate another 500,000 are living with it but aren’t diagnosed. That鈥檚 a big concern because it means their diabetes isn鈥檛 being managed and the risk of complications increases. 鈥淯nfortunately, people living with diabetes are twice as likely to develop heart disease or have a stroke, so health checks like these are really important. 鈥淲hile not all diabetes can be prevented and some people are at higher risk due to genetic factors, or family history, we know that 58 percent of type 2 diabetes cases could be prevented or delayed. For that to happen, we need early detection,鈥 Professor Brinkworth said. The free health checks will be available at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 from 24-26 October and visitors to the stand will be able access information about prevention of type 2 diabetes and prevention of complications. People at risk of type 2 diabetes can access free information and referral services by calling 1800PREVENT (type 2 diabetes) or visiting 1800PREVENT: type 2 diabetes prevention information service Callers to 1800PREVENT (type 2 diabetes) speak with a 黑料网 staff member who supports them in navigating health information services. Where appropriate, callers are given information about existing government-funded programs delivered by respected health organisations in their state or territory. About 黑料网 黑料网 is the national organisation supporting all people living with or at risk of diabetes. We put people first.
