Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit Supporting the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and health workforce The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Unit is a strong voice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with diabetes and those at risk. We lobby state and federal governments to provide culturally appropriate services, support and education programs that align with the National Diabetes Strategy. We also work closely with communities, health sectors and government agencies to ensure this support is community-centred. Our initiatives are for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with diabetes and their families, health workers and health professionals.
